6月7日,加拿大驻广州总领事馆举办主题为“发掘中国医疗器械市场新机遇”的网络分享会, 弗若斯特沙利文(Frost & Sullivan,以下简称“沙利文”)大中华区合伙人兼董事总经理毛化受邀出席并发表演讲。
毛化先生首先向大家介绍了中国医疗器械市场的整体发展概况,随后就外国企业在中国医疗器械市场有哪些机会做了简要分析。 他表示,中国已经成为世界第二大医疗器械市场,但是中国人均医疗器械支出仅仅占美国人均医疗器械支出的九分之一,中国医疗器械市场仍有巨大的增长潜力。
毛化指出,对比全球和中国医疗器械细分领域市场占比,中国低值耗材仍占市场较高份额,而在全球占较高份额的骨科器械、眼科器械、齿科器械、整形外科器械等在中国仍具有较大发展空间。
此外,中国“经济型”和“高端型”医疗器械市场的特点为进口厂商提供了不同的市场机会,“经济型”市场在价格敏感度下更注重质量和增值服务,“高端型”市场更注重技术革新和临床痛点的解决。因此,即使在“国产替代”的大趋势下,跨国医疗器械企业在中国市场仍具有成长机会。
China has become the world's second largest medical device market, while China's per capita medical device spending is nearly one-nineth of that of the United States, demonstrating great growth potential. China's medical device market has a low industry concentration and lacks large companies with strong brands and multi-product line layouts.
Low-value consumables still account for a relatively high market share in China, while ophthalmic devices, dental devices, orthopedic devices, and plastic surgery instruments, which account for a relatively high global share, still have great room for development in China.
China's medical device market shows the characteristics of “Economical" and “High-end", which provides different market opportunities for multinational corporations.
Small foreign companies can take their technological advantages to target the high-barrier fields, and gradually establish brand advantages in the "high-end" market.
Finally, Fred Mao said that multinational corporations can adapt to the local “economical” markets through domestic plant construction or investment mergers and acquisitions.
