倒计时1周!沙利文邀您共同聚焦合成生物与生物制造论坛,共启产业发展新征程

To this day, biomanufacturing has become a shining jewel in the capital market. Synthetic biology, as the third life science revolution following the discovery of the DNA double helix structure and the genome technology revolution, is driving the biomanufacturing industry to rapidly enter the 4.0 era, serving as a crucial strategic pillar for reshaping global material production methods. In the future, it will deeply transform the development paradigms of the biomedical, advanced materials, consumer goods, energy, environmental protection, and agriculture industries. Promoting the development of synthetic biology and biomanufacturing is not only a strategic opportunity to seize global leadership positions but also an important path to accelerate the formation of new productive forces and achieve high-level technological self-sufficiency.

On August 4, Frost & Sullivan will host the 20th Frost & Sullivan Global Growth, Innovation and Leadership Summit and the 5th New Investment Conference, and for the first time, a special forum on synthetic biology and biomanufacturing will be launched. Registration for the forum is now open.

As a core professional forum focusing on cutting-edge biotech at this summit, the Synthetic Biology and Biomanufacturing Forum will bring together academicians from two academies, top scholars, university professors, industry experts, leading enterprises, and investment institutions. Through keynote speeches, panel discussions, and white paper releases, a integrated communication platform of “industry-university-research-investment-service” will be established. This forum will comprehensively showcase the industrial value of the “third biotechnology revolution” in synthetic biology, providing strong support for technological innovation, achievement transformation, ecosystem improvement, and global development of China’s biomanufacturing industry.

Highlights of the Conference

Key Guests

Academician Zhao Guoping, Molecular Microbiologist, Chinese Academy of SciencesWill serve as the opening keynote guest. As a pioneer and guide in the fields of molecular microbiology and synthetic biology in China, Academician Zhao will discuss the core logic of the integration of biomanufacturing innovation chain and industry chain under the development paradigm from “building knowledge” to “applying knowledge,” kicking off a deep academic dialogue at the forum from a disciplinary perspective.

Li Yu, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, The Chinese University of Hong KongWill deliver a keynote speech on artificial intelligence enabling multi-dimensional biological modeling and algorithm innovation. Dr. Li Yu’s research group focuses on interdisciplinary areas such as machine learning, medical health, and bioinformatics, developing new machine learning methods to solve computational problems in biology and medical health. Recently, Li Yu’s team collaborated with Dai Lei from the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the moderator of Panel Discussion 2, to publish a breakthrough study in Nature Biomedical Engineering: using the HMD-AMP tool developed from a protein language model, they identified over 37 million candidate antibacterial peptides from the genomes of nine mammals, among which 48 had almost no sequence similarity to known antibacterial peptides but exhibited remarkable bactericidal capabilities in experiments.

National Biomanufacturing Industry Innovation Center

The National Biomanufacturing Industry Innovation Center was established under the leadership of the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, with participation from industry enterprises. It began construction in Shenzhen on July 14, 2024. The center will focus on national strategic goals, strengthen collaborative research on key common technologies, build an industry collaborative innovation ecosystem, and create a highland for biomanufacturing industry innovation.

National Biomanufacturing Industry Innovation CenterApproved by the National Development and Reform Commission, the National Biomanufacturing Industry Innovation Center was established under the leadership of the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, bringing together the Chinese Academy of Sciences, top universities, and leading biotech companies. It is the only national-level industrial innovation platform in China for biomanufacturing. At this forum,Cong Yongjian, Deputy Director of the National Innovation Centerwill deliver a keynote speech outlining the current status, core technical achievements, and future strategic layout of domestic synthetic biomanufacturing industry development.Ma Yingfei, Chief Scientist of the National Innovation Centerwill focus on sharing advanced technological breakthroughs and industrial application prospects of engineering phages.

Lei Ruipeng, Professor, Deputy Dean of the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, will analyze the ethical challenges, governance frameworks, and industry development boundaries under the context of the integration of AI technology and synthetic biology. Lei’s team published the first policy review paper in the field of humanities in China in Nature: “Reboot Ethics Governance in China,” which was adopted by a series of central documents and government reports, and is considered one of the first policy review achievements in humanities in Nature in China. In recent years, Lei’s team has undertaken several national-level research projects: the National Key Research and Development Program project “Synthesis Biology Ethics, Policy and Framework Research”; and the Major Project of the National Social Science Foundation “Philosophical Research on Biological Sample Banks in the Big Data Era.”
