2026 Cloud Pavilion Conference

From September 22 to 24, 2026, the 2026 Cloud Pavilion Conference was held in Hangzhou. This conference focused on areas such as intelligent computing power, large-scale AI models, intelligent agent applications, and industrial practices, presenting the latest explorations of artificial intelligence transitioning from technical capabilities to production applications. On September 23, the agenda featured the theme "AI + Campus: New Practices for Universal Computing Power and Talent Development," focusing on AI education in universities, computing power support, and talent cultivation.

Wang Chenhui, Managing Partner and President of Frost & Sullivan China, was invited to attend the event and delivered a keynote speech. Combining Frost & Sullivan's long-term observations of Chinese enterprises' upgrading, global development, capital market value discovery, and industry research, Wang Chenhui analyzed the changes brought by AI to knowledge production and talent cultivation methods, and shared insights on how universities can cultivate a new generation of industrial talents capable of solving real professional problems through industry-education collaboration.

Wang Chenhui pointed out that the impact of AI on universities today cannot be simply attributed to adding a course or providing a tool. It is gradually penetrating various aspects such as learning, research, governance, and talent evaluation, changing the operation mode of these aspects to varying degrees. In this context, university talent cultivation also needs corresponding adjustments. Besides helping students use tools, it is necessary to cultivate their comprehensive abilities to define problems, coordinate human-machine collaboration, and be responsible for results in professional contexts. The industry's requirements for talents are shifting from "understanding AI" to "being able to use AI to solve professional problems."

When discussing the goals of university talent cultivation, Wang Chenhui said that students must first have professional understanding, be able to understand industry contexts, business constraints, and evaluation standards; secondly, they must be able to define problems, clarify task objectives, boundaries, and constraints; and most importantly, they must be able to verify results, determine whether AI outputs are reliable, explain their judgments, and be responsible for final outcomes. AI can improve efficiency in information collection, content organization, and plan drafting, but improved learning efficiency cannot replace the cultivation of subjectivity. Independent thinking and professional judgment remain the core of talent development.

Wang Chenhui believes that university AI education should not stay at the level of individual courses or tool introduction, but need to form a systematic supply composed of courses and teaching, faculty capabilities, technology platforms, practical projects, ability evaluation, governance standards, and collaborative ecosystem. Industry-education collaboration should also progress from providing single resources to joint course development, practical cultivation, ability evaluation, and organizational construction, allowing students to understand needs, verify plans, and complete professional transfer in real tasks, promoting university AI education from resource introduction to ability cultivation.

Regarding the phenomenon that college students use AI increasingly but lack systematic learning, Wang Chenhui said that the current key weaknesses of students are not just tool operation, but the ability to judge, verify, and collaborate deeply. Universities need to include task decomposition, questioning, evidence verification, result comparison, and process review in teaching and evaluation, guiding students from "using tools" to "solving problems," and continuously transferring and improving human-machine collaboration skills in new professional scenarios. He further stated that evaluating the effectiveness of AI education should not only focus on faster task completion or more proficient tool use, but also on whether students can better define problems, identify errors, and be responsible for results.

At the event, the University AI Talent Development Lighthouse Program was officially released. Launched jointly by Frost & Sullivan, Alibaba Cloud, and LeadLeo Research Institute, this program will rely on the continuously updated "2026 China University AI Talent Development and Industry-Education Collaboration Tracking Report" to observe changes in university AI education supply and industry-education collaboration. At the same time, using two assessment systems—generative AI cognition and application benchmarks, and students' AI application capabilities—the program will dynamically track talent ability development, and combine with the "AI+Scenario" joint training project to provide more targeted ability cultivation plans for students. The release of the Lighthouse Program will further focus on the development and changes in Chinese youth's AI literacy, providing continuous observation and practical support for talent growth in the AI era.

Additionally, at the "Qianwen AI Platform Evolution: A New Service Approach for Agents" forum, Kong Linlin, Head of the Qianwen AI Platform website for Alibaba ATH Business Unit - MaaS, officially launched Qianwen AI Arena. This platform is designed for AI agents, continuously generating challenge tasks from real business scenarios, providing developers with models, operating environments, and evaluation capabilities, and collecting and verifying agent solutions capable of solving real problems. The second-phase task was proposed by Frost & Sullivan, focusing on the "Consumer Decision Assistant Agent," requiring the integration of product information and reviews to provide personalized recommendation solutions. Participating in Qianwen AI Arena is Frost & Sullivan's exploration of combining industry research capabilities with AI agent evaluation practices, and provides a capability testing platform for university students and developers facing real industrial scenarios.
