Fang Peijun, Chairman and CEO of Hydrogen Maple (China)
At this forum, Pei Jun, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Hydrogen Maple (China), delivered a speech on the future development of hydrogen energy technology.
The speech mainly unfolds into four parts: the advantages and potential of hydrogen energy, an overview of hydrogen energy technology development, the practical development of hydrogen energy technology by Hefeng, and the future prospects of hydrogen energy technology.
I. Advantages and potential of hydrogen energy
Fang Peijun pointed out that hydrogen energy, as a green and low-carbon secondary energy source, has advantages such as high energy density, storability, zero carbon emissions, and abundant resources. From the perspective of energy transformation, hydrogen energy can promote the development of a higher proportion of renewable energy, effectively reducing China's dependence on oil and gas imports; from the perspective of clean and low-carbon development, hydrogen energy has dual attributes as an energy fuel and industrial raw material, playing an important role in fields where deep decarbonization is difficult; from the perspective of acquisition and distribution, hydrogen energy raw materials are water, abundant in source, infinitely recyclable, and can be used for chemical energy storage and transportation, realizing the spatial and temporal transfer of energy. Secondly, hydrogen energy has a wide range of application scenarios and can be used in industries such as electricity, refining, chemical engineering, steel, transportation, and industry, with huge market potential.

II. Overview of Hydrogen Energy Technology Development
Fang Peijun stated that different countries exhibit varying strengths in the hydrogen energy industry chain. For example, Japanese and Korean companies are particularly prominent in the field of hydrogen fuel cells, while Germany and the Netherlands are more prominent in wind power-to-hydrogen conversion. This is related to factors such as resource characteristics and technological heritage of each country. At the same time, multiple hydrogen energy technologies have been carried out globally simultaneously, indicating that the global hydrogen energy technology has not yet formed a mature system and has significant exploration and development potential in the future.
At present, there are still some shortcomings and challenges in the development of hydrogen energy technology in China. There are varying degrees of technical shortcomings in each link of the hydrogen energy industry chain, so the technology of the industry chain still needs to be coordinated and improved; hydrogen energy has a wide range of application scenarios, but it is mainly used in industrial and transportation fields domestically at present, and terminal hydrogen energy application technology still needs further development; secondly, the research and development cost of hydrogen energy technology is relatively high, the research and development cycle is long, it is difficult to generate returns in the short term, and the research and development capabilities need further strengthening.
III. Hydrogen Maple Hydrogen Energy Technology Development Practice
Hydrogen Maple (China) was established in 2016 and is a leading provider of comprehensive hydrogen energy technology solutions, focusing on offering cross-industry chain products and services for hydrogen energy production, storage, transportation, and application.
Fang Peijun stated that hydrogen storage and transportation, as an important part of the hydrogen energy industry chain, currently face bottlenecks such as high transportation costs and low safety. Hydrogen Maple (China) has taken the lead in successfully launching a revolutionary hydrogen storage and transportation technology after several years of research and development, namely magnesium-based solid-state hydrogen storage and transportation technology.
This technology has unique advantages in solving the fields of hydrogen storage and transportation, overturning the traditional high-pressure gaseous storage and transportation state into an atmospheric pressure state, eliminating the risk of high-pressure explosion during hydrogen storage, and greatly enhancing safety performance. At the same time, compared with other hydrogen storage technologies, magnesium-based solid-state hydrogen storage and transportation technology has a higher hydrogen storage density, significantly improving hydrogen storage efficiency.
IV. Future Prospects of Hydrogen Energy Technology
Fang Peijun believes that in the future, with technological progress, the application fields of hydrogen energy will further expand, such as extending to aviation and navigation in the transportation sector; the application of hydrogen energy in hydrogen metallurgy and hydrogen chemical industries will also gradually mature. In addition, hydrogen energy may enter the household sector.
At the same time, regarding the development of hydrogen energy storage and transportation technology, Mr. Fang Peijun stated that future research may focus on further enhancing the large-scale storage and transportation of hydrogen, as well as improving safety and reducing costs.
Mr. Fang Peijun stated that Hydrogen Maple (China) will also deepen breakthrough research on magnesium-based solid-state hydrogen storage and transportation technology in the future, targeting the bottlenecks in the hydrogen energy industry. The company will focus on application coupling of this technology at the application scenario level to accelerate the industrialization process. In addition, Hydrogen Maple (China) will strengthen overseas exchanges and cooperation in the future, expand the global market, and promote the development and integration of hydrogen energy technology worldwide.
