Submersible pumps for wells are long-shaft type pumps that integrate an electric motor with the pump body, allowing it to be immersed in groundwater wells for water lifting. They have advantages such as high head, deep diving capability, small footprint, and high efficiency, and are widely used in farmland irrigation and drainage, residential water supply, industrial fields, urban construction, and other areas. Submersible pumps for wells belong to a type of centrifugal pump, consisting of a pump body, suction pipe, pump base, submersible motor (including cables), and starting protection devices. The pump body is the working component of the submersible pump, which includes parts such as the inlet section, flow guide shell, check valve, pump shaft, and impeller.
According to the material of the casing, submersible pumps for wells can be divided into stainless steel submersible pumps and cast iron submersible pumps. Stainless steel submersible pumps use stainless steel sheets as the core material, which are formed by stamping using molds, offering advantages such as high reliability, good sealing, and higher precision. Their hydraulic performance and pump efficiency are generally superior to those produced by cast iron processes. Therefore, stainless steel submersible pumps are gradually replacing cast iron ones and becoming a trend in the future development of submersible pumps. The penetration rate of stainless steel submersible pumps in China has been increasing year by year, rising from 27.8% in 2018 to 32.1% in 2023. In the future, as the customer base for stainless steel submersible pumps gradually expands, their penetration rate will continue to rise, expected to reach 41.1% by 2028. With the continuous increase in irrigation demand in China, the sales of stainless steel submersible pumps in China have shown a rapid upward trend in recent years, expanding from 2.01 billion yuan in 2018 to 3.38 billion yuan in 2023, with an annual compound growth rate of 11.0% during this period. These enterprises mainly layout in the mid-to-high-end market, with prices typically 4 to 5 times higher than those of domestic manufacturers. Therefore, overseas manufacturers have a relatively low market share in the Chinese stainless steel submersible pump market. At the same time, for domestic manufacturers, due to the scalability of their main products, which improves overall efficiency and saves unit costs, the gross profit margin of their main products is higher.
