2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference
The 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC 2026) opened today. Hosted jointly by ten ministries and commissions including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the conference involves 12 national ministries and commissions, 8 national-level laboratories, and over ten international organizations. It focuses on global AI regulations, security governance, and cross-border collaboration issues. This is the highest-level international AI governance dialogue platform in China. With the theme “Smart Partners, Co-creating the Future,” the conference will be held simultaneously in Shanghai Pudong Expo, Zhangjiang, and Xujiahui West Coast from July 17 to 20. Over 1,400 important guests from China and abroad will attend, including Nobel and Turing Award winners, CEOs of top global technology companies, international governance experts, and leading scholars from industry, academia, and research. More than 140 parallel forums will be organized, with core topics including world models, general intelligence agents, AI4S scientific intelligence, global AI governance, computing power infrastructure, and embodied intelligence.
